OBJECTIVES:
The main objective of the project is strengthening scientific cooperation between Fundeni Clinical Instituteand Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital of Zhejiang Universityvia a joint project proposal which, through the execution method, is of major scientific and practical importance and is aimed at developing research knowledge and activities, as well as at increasing mobility of researchers, sharing experience and accessing high-level research infrastructure, regarding the validation of prospective angiogenic and inflammatory biomarkers of liver cancer recurrence after surgery. Both partners have similar scientific goals in potential for carcinoma, similar research infrastructure and the potential to develop together more effective therapeutic strategies.
Secondary objectives:
Project Specific Objective 1: Incresing the scientific and research capacity and system of Fundeni Clinical Institute, through involvement in projects with international financing, via one (1) RO-CN bilateral scientific cooperation project that aims to validate new invasive method and to test different patients with high risk of recurrence and to increase the content of the available biobank of patient’s biological samples storage the high mortality rate of HCC as being mainly related to the rate of recurrence following therapeutic intervention, for a period of 13 months and beyond;
Project Specific Objective 2: Establishing solid RO-CN partnership between the Project Coordinatorand the Partner Coordinatorby setting up a joint interdisciplinary medical expert team, two (2) RO-CN institutions research infrastructure exchange visits, two (2) RO-CN symposia exchange participation, during the implementation duration of the project, namely 13 months;Continuous exchange research and training programs between the two teams, especially for doctoral and post-doctoral students, are essential to strengthen this partnership.
Project Specific Objective 3: Increasing the number of RO-CN joint publications with 4 scientific articles published in ISI-rated journals during the implementation duration of the project, 13 months, in order to ensure and strengthen the durability of the project`s outputs and results.
