The histological material brought after obtaining informed consent, in accordance with international ethical standards and specific legislation for the European Union (Universal Declaration of Human Rights – 1948, the Council of Europe’sConvention on Human Rights and Biomedicine, the Declaration of Helsinki, regarding the application of ethical principles in medical research involving human subjects – 1964, Provisions of Parliament and Council of Europe on the handling and free circulation of personal data).

Following the orientation of the surgical samples, harvested tissue fragments are processed using the ”Donatelo Tissue processors DONATELLO 52PRO01”, followed by sectioning using the fully automated ”Galileo Microtomes SDSGA9000” microtomes, and later embedded into paraffin blocks using the automated ”Canova embedding modules SDSCV9X00”,

The resulting tissue sections are subsequently stained with the automatic stainer ”BASIC – RAFFAELLO”, or with the immunohistochemistry station.

Using the tissue array technique, immunohistochemical centrifuge stains with SL 16R Centrifuge Cooling System 75004030

Our laboratory has Olimpus BX43F microscopes with image capture system and computerized image analysis capabilities.

INNOVATIVE RESEARCH
OF EUROPEAN LEVEL

CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN TRANSLATIONAL
MEDICINE

The strategic goal is to create research cores with advanced technological facilities in the form of research platforms by associating preclinical research laboratories and clinical research centers within the Fundeni Clinical Institute in a unique entity.

The newly created structure provides logistical support for biomedical research through the coordination of studies, quality management, data monitoring, dissemination of good clinical practice, database management and data analysis. Infrastructure is also dedicated to the production of vectors for gene and cellular therapy, as well as for the acquisition of new agents with therapeutic potential in digestive affection.
